Development of idea

It has been over a week since the presentations. We have to develop our timeline and decide on three definite technologies that we are going to show at the parallel museum. We are going to change the course of history so that they can be applied to are inventions. Like what if Hitler was born in 1945 and joined Kraftwerk instead of getting into politics. At the moment we are going with the windup mac, the atari gramophone and also the laser-sight spearhead.

Today I was looking at some of the first ever electronic instruments such as the Telharmonium by Cahil. We were also thinking of having a display of other inventions displayed on a conveyer belt powered when the user cycles a bike.

Parallel Museum

Earlier this week we visited the Museum in Dundalk to do some research and get some influences for our project. We were also advised to watch some documentaires and films to develop the idea of a parallel world, where the laws of nature dont apply and things are not as they seem. The presentations take place on monday.. Here are few pictures I took

Concept ideas

Today I done up two mock ups of what we might show at the presentations. They take place less than a week away, so we are researching different areas. The 80s music and movie revival at the moment is one are we are going to concentrate on. Artists like la roux and movies like transformers are 80s influenced. Also the steampunk is a style we are going to use.

Old and new technology

This week we have come up with a few different ideas. The idea about blindness wasn't suitable so we tried to put all of ideas together.
We then came up with the idea of blending old and new technology, such as what if the ipod was invented in the 1887 the same year the gramaphone was invented. By bending old and new technologys we can come up with new inventions. The project can be based on the museum of the future. Whether we can actually make some of these inventions work Ken said we might be able to use arduino to help with the programming.....

Today we have come up a good strong idea to do with blending technology from the past with the new eg. mixing a gramaphone with an ipod. This can be based in a paraellel universe and will be exhibited like a museum of the future!
